Introduction
I rode my bike over the west side of the span on Sunday, August 10, 2003. It was sunny, but as always, the weather on the bridge was entirely different, with fierce winds strong enough to knock my bike over when I stopped to get off and take pictures. Often, I had to brace my bike while I was taking pictures, else it would fall into the path of oncoming cyclists.
